This was a small project that I worked on when I started photography with a friend of mine. She has just started her natural hair journey & just recently got her hair into locs. So we decided to go into London a couple of times to capture people have natural hair. It was an experience that taught me a lot about photography, in terms of how strangers feel in front of a camera, how to make them comfortable when taking the picture. The most rewarding moment is when I would show them the picture & the smile on their face. It taught me that image is important in terms of how we identify ourselves, but also that everything is beautiful & not everyone sees that, sometimes not even ourselves.. We just need to be reminded.
